MCAU is a fairly laid back and easy going community of players. However, in order to maintain the appearance of order, and to ensure that everyone has the best possible experience, there are a few rules that all players, whether they are a player, donor, or staff member, are asked to agree to when they join the server.

This is fairly self-explanatory. Basically though, anything that involves griefing, abuse, stealing, murdering, attempted murder, advertising other servers without permission, homophobia, etc. is frowned upon and can see the player involved muted, kicked, jailed or banned. If you are not perma-banned, you may also be branded so as to inform other players that you have caused trouble in the past. Best Advice? Don't.

Be it a farm, house, animal, or items a player has dropped, don’t touch it, or give it back immediately.

No bullying, name calling, or abuse towards other players. Staff will crack down hard on any abuse. Additionally, we are not trained counsellors, so if you start using disturbing language that may include, but isn't limited to, injuring yourself or others, you may be asked to leave, or may have relevant authorities contacted if there is a genuine concern for your or someone elses safety.

Many mods can give you an unfair edge on your fellow players. If in doubt, ask our staff before using a mod. Mods that are explicitly banned include, but aren't limited to, using X-Ray, Flying & Speed Hacks.

Same as rules 1 and 2. Even “abandoned” houses are not free game. Any block changed will count as griefing, if it is discovered the block was changed without permission.

MCAU runs many modes, and most are Survival. You earn your own stuff. There are no handouts. Some players may give items to others if they so choose, but that is their choice. Most will not give you anything if you keep whining or begging for items though.

Take all the wood when you cut down trees down. Leaves will fall on their own without wood. Remember as well that there is the player treefarm.

This involves any spawner that uses water, removes mobs from the spawner area, forces them into a collection point, or automatically causes damage. This causes exceptional server lag and grinders will be removed when discovered.

In addition to the above rules, the following rules are also enforced. These however will generally result in warnings before any heavier punishments are applied.

People like to be able to expand their projects, and there is plenty of space elsewhere to build. The map does get expanded as areas are claimed. Remember that /wild will take you to a random point on the map.

This includes but is not limited to those AFK fishing contraptions to level your stats in fishing.
